Foster

Foster a Pintler Pet.

A different path to finding a forever home

Fostering a shelter pet is a great alternative for animal lovers that are not able or ready to adopt, to enjoy the company of a shelter pet for a temporary amount of time.

Foster care plays a prominent role in reducing stress of the animals, socialization, and our ability to free up limited space and give more animals a chance at finding their forever homes.

Foster-to-Adopt.

While there are no expectations for foster families to adopt, if you do fall in love with your foster, we will be here for it!

Animals Needing a Foster

Animals needing foster care include:

  • those that are having difficulty in the shelter environment

  • nursing mothers and their litters

  • animals recovering from surgery

  • elderly and ill animals

  • animals with behavioral issues and need a little extra time and attention to help them thrive and become more adoptable (this is particularly true of some of the dogs that come in and haven't truly been part of a "family")
