Volunteer at Pintler Pets.

Support from compassionate, dedicated, and patient volunteers makes much of our work possible and is essential to our commitment of providing love and support for the animals in our care and continuing our rescue efforts.

From cuddling curtain ninjas (aka cats), to playing fetch, to staffing an event, we are sure we have a volunteer opportunity that is a perfect for you!

Check out the “Friends of Pintler Pets” Volunteer Facebook Group for upcoming volunteer needs opportunities!

  • We are in the process of making some small but impactful improvements to our facility to better accommodate the animals under our care. As a very small staffed shelter, we desperately need volunteers willing to help with hands-on tasks and manual labor. All skills welcome! If you are interested, please fill out the “Join our Pack” form featured to the left.

  • Provide some much needed (and deserved) socialization, affection, and exercise through grooming, walking, and one-on-one time.

  • Spend time grooming and socializing our purr-fect feline friends.

  • It truly takes a village. It is an endless and tireless job keeping a shelter running. Help our staff with routine kennel cleaning, dishes, laundry, site cleanup, and office organization.

  • This option is great for those who would like to help the shelter, but cannot commit to a formal volunteer experience. We are always in need of friendly faces to join our team at adoption events, holiday events, fundraising events, and with animal transportation.

Introducing Pintler Pack Walks

The Power of Pack Walks

Pack walks are group, leash-led walks with shelter dogs. While the shelter dogs will be kept at safe distances from each other and will not physically interact on the pack walks, they will learn to calmly co-exist with one another and experience positive interactions in a non-threatening environment. These walks are a wonderful opportunity to help shelter dogs get some much-needed exercise, mental stimulation, socialization, leash manners, and fresh air. Well-exercised, well-socialized dogs are more likely to find forever homes. It's not only beneficial for the dogs but also incredibly rewarding for volunteers like you!

Pack Walk Volunteers will:

  • Lead dogs on leashes during the walk.

  • Provide love and encouragement to our furry friends.

  • Promote a positive and safe walking environment.

  • Enjoy the great outdoors while making new friends, both human and canine.

  • Experience the heartwarming joy of giving shelter dogs a taste of the world beyond their kennels.

Training and guidance will be provided to ensure both the volunteers and dogs have a safe and rewarding experience.

Volunteers under the age of 15 must have a parent or guardian actively volunteering with them. Signed waivers will be required upon arrival to the shelter.
